About Timothy Kovacs
An experienced psychologist and licensed marriage family therapist (MFT), Timothy Kovacs embarked on his career in public service with a part-time YWCA internship while working toward his master’s in clinical psychology at California State University, Fullerton. As part of the Covina YMCA’s WINGS (Women In Need Growing Stronger) program, he gained valuable experience in therapeutic intervention and crisis intervention. Following graduation, Timothy Kovacs completed a full-time internship with the Center for Integrated Family and Health Services before establishing a private MFT practice and performing MFT functions with multiple public and private organizations.
After several years as manager of the Baldwin Park Unified School District (BPUSD) Head Start program, Timothy Kovacs accepted his current position, as BPUSD assistant director of early childhood education services, in 2010. His daily responsibilities revolve around serving the overall health, mental health, and nutritional needs of a diverse student population. Mr. Kovacs concurrently teaches psychology as an adjunct instructor at Azusa Pacific University.
